1408 - I might have jumped/gotten scared once during this whole movie. It just seemed to be trying too hard throwing you for too many twists .. I hate movies with the whole I was sleeping and then I woke up and realize everything that happened was just a dream then I realized no maybe it wasn't a dream... don't waste your time if you're looking for a good scare. 4/10

Fan 4 - decent, I've never read the comics nor seen the first movie. I think this one just needed to be a little bit longer with some longer action scenes. 7/10

Knocked Up- a few good laughs more cringing on my part. 7/10

The Painted Veil - 100% chick flick, a great very different plot/actors, I suggest renting it one night while your man is out of town b/c he won't like it and you'll probably cry. 9/10

The Abandoned - 6/10
It's the best pick outta the movies that were part of horror fest this year. It wasn't great, it wasn't scary.. it was just.. I dunno.. it tried, but didn't do it for me.

Live Free or Die Hard - I have eagerly been awaiting this next installment in the Die Hard series and it was worth it . Super summer action movie . Bruce Willis is the man . Packed full of explosions , gun battles , fights , helicopters , fighter jet and car chases , it's all there on the big screen . Timothy Olyphant ( sheriff from Deadwood on HBO ) was the cool calculating bad guy and played it well . Bruce delivered the never say die attitude and witty one liners as well . The scene w/ the F-35 vs. semi truck driven by Willis was outta sight and I'll leave it at that . Get your snacks and take a leak before the movie starts because there are no slow breaks in this one .
Life is a grindstone . Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up , depends on what we are made of .

"The Departed" with Leonardo DeCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nickelson and directed by Martine Scorsese. It won the he Academy Award but it has to be one of the worst award winner of all time given all the violence and profanity. Perhaps thats what it takes to win over the Academy these days.

Evil Dead 2 - After searching area video stores (forgot about Blockbuster Online) for a while, I finally caught this one on TMC last weekend.

Bruce Campbell is the greatest actor to ever live.

You should'a asked me. My review of the same flick is a couple pages back.

While we're on the subject. I just heard him doing a couple voices on Robot Chicken and he does a voice in the new ATHF movie.

I want more live-action stuff in the style of Bubba Ho-Tep and Army of Darkness.

Oh sure. I'll take what I can get, whether it be him voicing a chicken, pimping Old Spice, or fighting Deadites.
